Sir Isaac Newton Sir Isaac Newton was born on 25 December 1642 and died on 20 March 1727 having been the master of the Royal Mint since 1700.
At the time of this announcement the Royal Mint said that the date for release of the 2017 Sir Isaac Newton 50p coin would be the anniversary date of September 2017.
